The IRS can't produce transcripts older than 3 years.
There's a form you can fill out and pay $39/return and takes up to 60 days, but even on this one it says: "records older than 7 years may not be available as it's admissable by law that they be distroyed".

I have heard such cases and as per law, you are responsible to bring it to the USCIS notice about their mistake. Since you have one more month left, it is better to work with your attorney to iron out this issue. Make sure you bring this to UCSIS notice.
TO get 3 year extension your attorney needs to file the copy of approved 140along with the request for H1b extension. Make sure to ask for H4 also if you have one.

What are you saying? Health Services dismal? I thought it was better than US in many aspects. The cost is cheap for treatment (unless you have some uncommon disease. Since the system is churning up so many doctors, there is a lot of competition. Even in small villages you will find many doctors competing for patients. Maybe that is not true for everywhere, but that is what I have seen in my home state Haryana.
Also the education system may not be perfect, but kids don't have to go to private schools, because public schools have run out of capacity. There are problems like not all-around development, and not all kids doing great in studies. But that is true even in US, unless you are sending your kids to a fine private school (which by the way you can do in India, if you have money). JMHO

China moved down due to corruption etc. India moved up but any further movement will depend on structural reforms, especially controlling the huge public service and red-tape and a creaking infrastructure - power, roads, ports, water supply - all of which are run by the government. The health services in large parts of India is dismal and so is the public education system (K-12). With the left firmly controlling the ruling party, deregulation is slow and insipid, and it is the private sector which is basically contributing to the GDP and Competitiveness. 1. Manner of Last Entry : I think it should be PAR:PAROLEE
2. Current Immigration Status : Again think should be PAR:PAROLEE
3. There is a field where it asks for previous EAD's. I am not sure of the date when i applied last time, what date i should put, the date from which EAD is valid ?
4. Also i have applied for EAD twice, do we need to put the information for both of them.
5. Other Names/Aliases : I think it should be 'None' in my case as i never had any other name, am i right or should it be left blank.
6. for Eligibility status i think the value should be : (c)(9) FILED I-485
I am in EB2, pririty date Aug 2006. last entry to US Jan 2010 using Advance Parole.

Do not worry about RFE on AP. I was and am in the same situation (NSC->CSC->TSC) . ND was Sep 19; got my EAD; RFE on AP (for me & flmy) & no FP. RFE was asking to submit all copies of I-94's ever issued to be, proof of relationship (birth , marriage cert). Yest , on the website saw that our AP was approved :D.
For the FP notice, called them & managed to speak with an IO. She advised me to wait for 60 dyas after the 485 ND.

A background check used to consist of looking to see whether a person was under investigation by the FBI. Now immigration officials want to know if the person's name has come up in any other investigations.
That meant the FBI suddenly had to redo some 2.7 million checks. Miller said that load was added to the 3 million background checks the FBI typically gets every year; the result was that the bureau was overwhelmed.
"When you hand someone � with a staff of 30 [people] � 2.7 million names and say, 'Do them over' � and not just do them over, but where there are issues and questions and missing files, 'Resolve those issues' � you are going to have a challenge on your hands," Miller says.
To combat the problem, Miller says the FBI is raising the fees they charge various agencies so they can hire more staff. A typical background check costs about $2. The FBI is raising the fee to $9.
FBI officials are also talking to the Department of Homeland Security about borrowing some of their employees to clear out the backlog. And they are discussing how they might change FBI criteria to make the process more efficient.
"There is a perception born of these stories that we're indifferent," Miller says. He adds, "But we're processing them faster than we are taking them in."
"According to Miller, only about 30 percent of applicants are running into such difficulties."

Can someone advise on this. My 6 yrs of H1 expires in Jan 2008. Employer says they will only apply 90 days prior to H1-b expiration.
They already applied my 485 and AP.
What should I be doing?
1. Can I apply EAD myself?
2. will I get in trouble if I do not have EAD and my H1 expires?
3. Can I move to new employer using AC21 without EAD?

it should be a slap on the face of all those who oppose skilled immigration,saying that most of the h1bs work for indian outsourcing companies for miserable pay..

How do you know AP is approved for multiple entries?
I thought AP in general is for multiple entries.
Is there a way to tell from your approval notice it your AP was approved for multiple times?

If you read the AP it say in the bold letters that " This authorization is valid for multiple applications for parole into the US during the valid period noted above "

I'm with you, why is everyone so afraid?
God knows there would be enough people for a class action lawsuit against DOL.
My congressman called DOL and they said my case had been withdrawn: but it had been withdrawn b/c of THEIR errors, TWICE!
Both times it was reinstated and proved to be their error, and they are still using it as an excuse for not processing it yet.
And I thought "developed" countries worked differently than "developing" countries.
If IV has enough people interested I would certainly be interested to participate in a CA suit against DOL. I am losing hope that diplomacy will bring any results for us to be helpful.
